Randonnée : Le sentier de l’Agriotier - Vallon de la Gaillarde

Discover Dolmens, the Quatre Vents ruins and other historic remains.
Explore the hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea where natural sites are protected by the Conservatoire du Littoral (coastline conservation body) and the Natura 2000 network.

Description

> ACCESS
From Saint-Raphaël, take road D559 towards Saint-Tropez. After a few kilometres, turn right towards “Cimetière des Issambres” (Rue du Gattilier). Immediately afterwards, outside Domaine de la Gaillarde, continue straight ahead on the same road for about 2 minutes (900 metres). Park once you’ve passed the small roadside stand which you’ll see on your right.

>DEPARTURE POINT
Once parked, at the crossroads between Rue du Gattilier and Chemin de la Gaillarde, you’ll see a dirt track with a gate and an information panel. Your hike starts here. You can park near the stand.

>ITINERARY
Go through the gate and, after 300 metres, turn right onto the track, then right again. About 1 km further on you'll see Avenue du Parc on your right, but continue straight on and follow the track around a 90° turn to the left. Continue for 1 km and take the hairpin on your right. After 500 metres, turn left onto the track, Chemin des Petites Maures. After 600 metres, turn right at the intersection and, immediately afterwards, turn left at a second intersection.
After 300 metres your destination is on your left.
For the walk back, retrace your steps to the last intersection, continue straight on for 800 metres, then turn left onto Chemin des Petites Maures). Go right at the fork and, after 500 metres, you'll come to the wide dirt track that you followed on the outward trip.

You'll discover a number of vestiges of the Gaillarde valley.
