Sunrise at Mont-Vinaigre

It seems that the world belongs to those who get up early... And what a world is open to you from the summit of Mont-Vinaigre!

5am... You take one's courage in both hands !

Alone to escape from your daily life and get back to yourself, or as a couple for a romantic moment to engrave in your mind. Lace your shoes at dawn, it's time to climb Mont-Vinaigre in Fréjus!

The coffee smokes in the thermos, you throw an icy jet of water on your face to give you courage... It is still dark but this morning awakening will be worth it! Mont-Vinaigre, the peak of the Esterel massif, rises to 614 m above sea level overlooking the town of Fréjus, and offers you a breathtaking view of the bay of Cannes, Fréjus and Saint-Tropez in the distance.

Some precautions before leaving

In summer the sun rises around 6am at Mont Vinaigre, and in winter around 7:30am/8am, make sure you know before you leave, it would be a shame to miss this beautiful show!

Put on a good pair of shoes, take a warm outfit and some light. A good breakfast at the top while enjoying the sunrise can be a great way to impress your better half or simply reward yourself for this early morning ascent!

Let's go for the climb

At dawn, you will discover a completely different universe. The sounds of the forest are multiplied: the birds are having a great time! If you are lucky, you may see a fox or rabbits. They are more likely to approach the trails at times when there is no passage.

The first glimmers are already magnificent. The sky begins to look like an orange veil announcing the arrival of the sun. In the distance, the Mont-Vinaigre tower stands out in the sky. That's where we're going!

A show awaits you at the top!

After approximately 50 minutes of walking, we finally reach the summit just in time to attend a unique moment. Lulled by the sounds of nature, we admire the sunrise and the magnificent colours it produces. An experience of great serenity that we highly recommend! Let's watch the video:

Our tips :
Get some information about the weather forecasting and choose a clear day
Get some information about the time of sunrise according to the seasons
Plan breakfast and hot drinks as a reward for your ascent (be careful, we cool down quickly once the effort of the ascent is over)!
Don't forget to bring a torch or headlamp
Don't forget your camera to capture this moment!
Put on good shoes and get equipped according to the season
