As they do every Friday evening before dinner at one of the region's finest restaurants, the Mesnard family gather at "Le Père Tranquille", the café owned by Henri, the eldest son. Tonight is the birthday of Yolande, the daughter-in-law, but events are about to turn the evening upside down.
The whole family will be thrown into turmoil, with reproaches, misunderstandings, resentments and unspoken words all coming to light... no one will emerge from this evening unscathed.
