Hiking on the fragrant Rocher Saint-Barthélémy biological trail

The rock of Saint-Barthélémy offers the beautifully contrasting colours of the French Riviera's lovely blue sky and the red rocks of the Estérel massif. This itinerary can be followed by wheelchair users.

Description

> ACCÈS
En voiture par Agay :
emprunter le bord de mer en direction d’Agay, arrivé au rond-point d’Agay, suivre la direction Massif de l’Estérel.

Passer sous le petit pont de la voie ferrée, dépasser la zone artisanale et, tout de
suite après, prendre à droite la petite route indiquée “Massif de l’Estérel”.

Passer la maison forestière du Gratadis, prendre à droite direction Pic de l’Ours”.

Au croisement suivant, tourner à droite direction Rocher Saint-Barthélemy, Plateau d’Anthéor jusqu’à la barrière.

Se garer (penser à laisser l’accès libre devant la barrière pour les pompiers).

> ITINÉRAIRE
Passer la barrière et suivre la route sur 1,5 km soit environ 30 minutes. Cette route, fermée à la circulation, est quasiment plate. Belle vue sur la route de la Corniche, profiter d’un magnifique panorama sur la mer.

Retour par le même itinéraire. Sur cette randonnée “sentier botanique des senteurs”, se trouve des bornes explicatives sur l’environnement. Elles ont été mises en place dans un but pédagogique afin de sensibiliser les randonneurs
à la flore protégée du massif.

Il est possible de prolonger la balade après le rocher sur 2 km aller/retour. Depuis
la route de la Corniche d’Or, accès à la Pointe de l’Observatoire depuis laquelle la vue sur le massif et la côte est magnifique !

> Soyez prévoyant : l’été, par forte chaleur et mistral, le Massif peut être fermé pour cause de risques incendies. Se reporter à la rubrique "informations pratiques" pour connaître la situation journalière.
