The history of Les Aromates de l'Iscle is, first and foremost, a family history. In 2009, Pascal Massa set up a 1 ha saffron farm, on family land, in Roquebrune Sur Argens. Saffron, which was traditionally grown in the region, had almost disappeared from the Var but production has once again resumed. The Argens plain is renowned for being one Europe's most fertile regions, with well drained, rich alluvial soil, ideal for crocus growing.
