La Maison de la Préhistoire

Venez appréhender l'art de vivre de notre ancêtre local, le Bouverien, et découvrir des vestiges ou outils de pierre datant de l'époque du Paléolithique supérieur à la Maison de la Préhistoire située à la Bouverie.

Description

Ce musée, inauguré cet été en hommage à ces deux passionnés de préhistoire et instigateurs des fouilles archéologiques des grottes de la Bouverie durant les années 1960, présente notamment, de manière didactique, leurs découvertes qui font aujourd'hui pleinement partie de la mémoire et du riche patrimoine de notre Ville.

C'est au cours du paléolithique supérieur, que le Bouverien a décidé de s'installer dans les grottes de la Bouverie, lieu qui lui a donné son nom.
Cet ancêtre est reconnu comme étant d'importance parmi les nombreuses branches connues de notre arbre généalogique européen commun.

Nous vous invitons à venir découvrir cet homme, habile chasseur qui a laissé de nombreuses traces de son passage sous la forme d'un nombre conséquent d'outils divers en silex taillé. Pointes de flèches ou grattoirs ont été mis à jour par Jean Landréat et François Puigdellivol lors de la campagne de fouille de 1967.
