The village of Mons
Discover the village of Mons, one of the 9 hilltop villages of the Pays de Fayence! In Mons, you will find the Mont-Lachens, 814m high, the highest point in the whole territory. Walk through the village and its old narrow streets dating from the 10th and 13th centuries, bordered by stone houses, in the Château-Vieux district.

Mons is the roof of the Var thanks to the highest point of Lachens at 814 m. Mons tells the story of the old trades through 35 wrought iron signs, placed along the streets and crossings.
Some fountains decorate the small squares. A viewpoint indicator waits for you on the Square Saint-Sébastien, offering you a magnificent view, where the sea is almost always visible, with the Lérins isles in front of Cannes and Fréjus beach. At night you can see the periodic light of the Cap Camarat lighthouse, near St-Tropez. Some days, after the passaging of the "Mistral", the gaze even reaches as far as the Corsican mountains.

The village of Mons is plentiful of curiosities that attract as many visitors as ever every year. Here are some of the sights that make Mons a charming village.
- The "Marine and Monstagne" exhibition (original scale model of ships built with matches).
- The municipal museum « La Maison Monsoise »
- The Notre-Dame chapel, which dates from the 17th century and offers a splendid view of the village.
- The church of Mons, a parish church built in the 13th century and which has a very rare collection of splendid 17th century baroque altarpieces, as well as two processional crosses.

Many hikes and walks of all kinds will delight you in an idyllic setting between the gorges of the Siagne, the Roman remains, the panoramic views of the Var department and the Côte d'Azur coast.

They can be reached either by a 30-minute walk from the village (delineated path) or by a path from the mill bridge.
