Description
Originally, St. John's Day was a pagan festival where fires were lit to bless the harvest. Nowadays, it is the celebration of light and summer, a few days before the solstice. Over time, legends and rituals have been woven around this fire.
On Saturday, June 24th, from 6:00 pm, Roquebrune-sur-Argens proposes its version of the Midsummer fire with the program :
- from 6:00 pm, on the Perrin square: stands and animations for the children
- at 7 pm : traditional music with Escapado
- from 9:00 pm: Provencal dance by the Miougrano, torchlight parade from the place Perrin to the place Germain Ollier, setting fire to the fire and dancing around the fire
- from 10:00 pm: ball of the saint jean by the musical group flashback
